Gov. Jay Nixon outlines his proposed budget and tells legislators what bills he wants to be passed tonight. The annual State of the State message is at 7 p.m.
Legislative leaders have told Nixon they expect a balanced budget that does not require passage of contingency legislation to balance it. Nixon has kept his legislative package secret except for a jobs program that he’s been touring the state to promote.
