Rams’ Fisher meets with Schottenheimer

January 16, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Even though his contract with the St. Louis Rams is not finalized, new head coach Jeff Fisher is wasting little time on trying to assemble a coaching staff. Sunday night, Fisher met with ousted New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

Jets coach Rex Ryan finally commented on Schottenheimer’s departure late last week calling the split a “mutual decision.” The Jets were ranked 29th in offense and finished the year 8-8 with Mark Sanchez as their quarterback.

ESPN.com is reporting that no offer was made by Fisher, but the two are scheduled to meet again on Monday in Nashville.
