The #7 Missouri Tigers suffered their first loss of the 2011-12 season falling at #23 Kansas State 75-59 Saturday afternoon. The Tigers entered the day one of four unbeaten teams, but never put up much of a fight.

Kansas State was led by Rodney McGruder who scored 20 points and never trailed by fewer than 12 in the second half.

The game turned in the first half when Missouri went without a field goal for more than eight minutes as the game went from a 16-10 deficit to a 38-19 hole. It also didn’t help that the Tigers went 5 of 22 from the free throw line in the half.

Ricardo Ratliffe played just 14 minutes and ended the day with four fouls and just two points. Without Ratliffe on the floor, the Tigers struggled in the rebounding department getting beat 36-22 on the boards.

Marcus Denmon led the Tigers with 17 points on 5 of 14 shooting. Michael Dixon had 16 on 4 of 11 shooting.
