Troubled Springfield city councilman Nick Ibarra has resigned, saying he needs to focus on his marital and personal problems.
Ibarra is accused of threatening his wife with a loaded handgun during an argument last weekend. He and his wife are separated. She has asked for a judge to order Ibarra to stay away from her and their two children.Â
The Highway Patrol also is investigating a reported “road rage” incident involving Ibarra.
