Carthage bondswoman charged with false imprisonment

January 5, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

A bondswoman from Carthage is charged with false imprisonment for chaining a man on bail to a banister in her home overnight.

The charge against Jeanie Chartier say she told the man she was revoking his bond, and when the sheriff refused to put the man in jail because Chartier had no court order revoking the bond, she took him to her house. The sheriff says the man stayed there until friends gave money  to Chartier
