Opponents of a weapons plant being built in Kansas City have gotten enough signatures to put the issue before voters. A group called KC Peace Planters wants to keep the factory from making weapons.
The factory is intended to make non-nuclear parts for nuclear weapons. A spokesman says the group cannot stop construction of the plant but it can force it to make products that are more environmentally-friendly
