A Central Missouri man who spent 15 years in prison before a judge ruled he was wrongly convicted wants somebody to pay. A federal lawsuit filed by Dale Helmig against Osage County, the former sheriff and a former deputy and a former Highway Patrolman does not ask for a specific amount of damages.

Helmig was convicted of murdering his mother in 1993. A judge later ruled the prosecutor handled the case improperly and there is evidence the killing was done by someone else. No one else has been charged.
