Marcus Denmon’s 3-pointer with 60 seconds left put Missouri in front for good Friday and the No. 8 Tigers escaped with a 75-68 win over Old Dominion.

Missouri remained one of four unbeaten teams in major college basketball, fighting off what would have been one of the biggest upsets of the season.

The Tigers trailed by two at halftime, then quickly grabbed a nine-point advantage in the second period.

Old Dominion came back to take a 67-65 lead with 1:57 to play on Kent Bazemore’s layup, but Ricardo Ratliffe’s basket 9 seconds later created the last tie of the game.

Denmon put Missouri in front with his 3-pointer and the Monarchs could not score again until Bazemore made a free throw with 15 seconds remaining.

Missouri improved to 13-0. Syracuse, Baylor and Murray State are the nation’s only other unbeaten teams.

Denmon finished with 19 points while Kim English had 16 for the Tigers.

Ratliffe and Phil Pressey both scored 14, with Ratliffe adding 11 rebounds.

Old Dominion (6-7) was led by Bazemore with 16 points.
