The case of a missing southeast Missouri woman…and her presumed murder…has suffered a serious setback with the death of the only person who claimed to have heard a confession from the main suspect.

James Clay Waller Senior has died before prosecutors could record his claims that his son murdered wife Jacque Waller last June.

Her body has never been found. The prosecutor has said he intends to charge Clay Waller Junior with murder. Waller is in custody, awaiting sentencing on a federal internet threatening charge. He threatened his wife’s sister, who has custody of the three Waller children.
