The holidays bring millions of people into Missouri not only to see family, but to see all the holiday sights Missouri has to offer. Division of Tourism Director Katie Steele Danner says big cities like St. Louis and Kansas City see a lot of people, but so does Branson.

December is Branson’s second busiest month of the year, behind July.

Other attractions in Missouri are the Christmas and holiday festivals at Missouri’s wineries. There are more than a hundred wineries in the state. Danner says so far the weather this winter has been mild, and she hopes it will continue to stay dry so that visitors have no trouble on the roads.

Danner says big cities like St. Louis have lots of different Christmas and Winter themed events going on in December. The Missouri Botanical Garden hosts events for Hanukkah and Kwanza this month. Kansas City expects to see nearly 6 million people in the last three months of the year. She says the celebration on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza draws a crowed.
