Mizzou’s Michael Dixon was one of 65 finalists named to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2012 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award watch list. The annual honor, named for Hall of Famer Bob Cousy, recognizes the top point guards in college basketball this season.
Dixon is coming off of a career week that saw him average 24 points on 69.2-percent shooting in wins over Kennesaw State and William & Mary including a career best 30 points on Sunday. Dixon has missed just two foul shots all year, connecting on 40-of-42. He is first in Mizzou history in career field goal percentage with his 85.9-percent clip.
This original list of candidates will be narrowed down to a final twenty by January 1st, final ten by February 1st, and final five by March 1st.
