Bank of America has donated a hundred thousand dollars toward rebuilding a hospital destroyed in the May 22nd tornado in Joplin. Consumer Market Manager of Bank of America Mike Kobriger says the company thought it just felt right to help the people in Joplin rebuild the hospital.

Mercy St. John’s Joplin President and CEO Gary Pulsipher says the money will be put to good use. He says though the hospital was well insured, there will still be some gaps in funding that this will help fill.

Pulsopher says the donation was a big surprise. The new hospital is expected to begin construction in January.

Darrin Wright of affiliate KZRG in Joplin contributed to this report.
