Mizzou coach leaving to run Memphis defense

December 15, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Missouri Tigers safeties coach Barry Odom will be the new defensive coordinator at Memphis. Odom will coach the Independence Bowl against North Carolina.  Odom will work under new Coach Justin Fuente, who was TCU’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Odom’s hiring is pending approval by the Tennessee State Board of Regents.

Odom was a linebacker at Mizzou from 1996-99, and has been a full-time defensive assistant for the past three seasons.
