The 14 senators of the Missouri River Working Group have signed a letter to the Comptroller General of the U.S. Government Accountability Office regarding the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ management of the Missouri River during the flood of 2011.

Senator Roy Blunt is a member of the working group. He says the group wants to see the allocation of funds and planning for management reflect that flood control is the top priority on the River, as the Corps says it is.

Blunt says the letter sends a strong statement from the senators in the seven states along the River. It can be viewed here.
