Either way you slice it, the Miami Marlins are out of the running for Albert Pujols which leaves the door open for the Cardinals, even though there appears to be two more teams with interest.

According to ESPN, one source said that Pujols’ agent Dan Lozano called the Marlins and told them they were no longer in the race, but another person close to the situation said the team decided to withdraw after signing St. Charles, MO. native and former White Sox lefty Mark Buehrle, who pitched for Ozzie Guillen on the south side.

As far as Pujols, we know about the Cubs, but I heard their offer was for fewer years and less money than the reported 10 year, $220 million offer on the table from the Cardinals. There is also one more unidentified team that has an offer.
