ESPN is reporting that the Florida Marlins have offered Albert Pujols a 10-year deal. It is not clear, how much money is in this updated deal, but an extra year was added to the Marlins’ original offer when Pujols met with club officials in Miami the weekend of Thanksgiving.
Another key point to the contract would be a no-trade clause. That was something that Pujols had in his St. Louis contracts, but a point that was left out of recently signed free agent Jose Reyes’ new six year deal with Miami.
The Chicago Cubs reportedly also made a first proposal yesterday at the Winter Meetings in Dallas.
