Marcus Denmon was 10 of 16 from the floor, including 6 of 10 from three point range and Ricardo Ratliffe had 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Missouri Tigers remain perfect on the season at 8-0, following their 81-71 win over Villanova at the Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square Garden.
At one point in the first half the Tigers trailed 21-19 after going on a 1 for 16 dry spell with 8:52 to play. Missouri rallied for a 14-3 run over the next 5:49 to go up 33-24.
A Denmon three pointer at the start of the second half put the Tigers up 45-29. The lead would get to as many as 16, four minutes into the second half. Villanova would put together one more run to cut the Tigers lead to seven with just over six minutes to play, but Mizzou showed composure and finished off the Wildcats.
Kim English was the other Tiger to finish in double figures with 15. Mizzou shot just 42% from the field, but was 10 of 25 on three pointers.
