Blues fall in shootout

December 3, 2011 By Missourinet Contributor

Ryan O’Reilly was the only player to convert in the shootout as the Colorado Avalanche took a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

O’Reilly also netted the game-tying goal in the third period to go along with an assist for Colorado, which won back-to-back games for the first time since a five-game win streak from October 10-17. Semyon Varlamov stopped 35 shots to earn the win. Kevin Shattenkirk and Patrik Berglund lit the lamp for the Blues, who saw their four-game win streak come to an end. Jaroslav Halak stopped 35-of-37 shots in defeat.
