Missouri Tigers senior tight end Andrew Jones was on the floor at Mizzou Arena practicing with the basketball team on Wednesday. While the athletic department can’t confirm whether or not Jones will play basketball, he could help in the rebounding department.

While the Tigers are unbeaten, the one area where the Tigers need the biggest help is on rebounding. The team ranks last in the Big 12 Conference in offensive rebounding. At 6’5 and 255 pounds, Jones chose football over basketball, even though he was heavily recruited for basketball from Missouri State and Wichita State.

In an interview with the Columbia Missourian, Jones’ basketball coach at Smithville High School said that he still gets calls from D-II schools inquiring if he Jones would play basketball during a fifth year of elilgibility.

Jones was a four-time All-State basketball player at Smithville, scoring nearly 2,000 points in his career there. He grew up playing on AAU teams with senior Marcus Denmon.
