Mike Sherman was fired as Texas A&M’s coach Thursday after the Aggies finished the regular season at 6-6. The move comes with Sherman coming off his best season at A & M, where the Aggies finished 9-4 by winning their last six games in 2010. A & M lost in the Cotton Bowl.

Sherman was 25-25 in four seasons at A&M, and had three years remaining on his contract and the buyout will be about $5.8 million.
