Brian Elliott made 24 saves to earn his third shutout of the season and 12th of his career, backstopping the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 win over the Calgary Flames on Friday.

David Backes had a goal and an assist and Alex Pietrangelo also scored in the win. Alex Steen and Kevin Shattenkirk chipped in with assists for the Blues, who have won two straight and five of their last seven games. Elliott upped his save percentage to .951 and lowered his goals-against average to 1.34, both leading the NHL. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 22-of-24 shots for the Flames, losers of three consecutive games.
