The state’s top attorney says telemarketers should not be able to call people’s cell phones. Attorney General Chris Koster says he’s been trying to get law makers to pass legislation putting cell phones on the state’s no-call list, but they haven’t.

He says it’s not fair for Missourians to pay for minutes on their phones that then get wasted by telemarketers. He says he doesn’t know if text messages could be included in the law, but it would be up to the legislature to decide that. The other legislation he’s recommended this session is for strengthening the laws on reporting the sexual abuse of a child to law enforcement.
