When driving this weekend, the Highway Patrol says to watch out for other drivers, because more people travel during this holiday weekend than most others.

Highway Patrol Captain Tim Hull says there will be patrolmen every twenty miles on most highways throughout the state every day this weekend.

Motorists can call *55 to have a highway patrol officer come help them out, be it a flat tire or engine trouble. He says though there were 7 people who died in crashes last year, that was down from the year before. He says that’s the case all year-long this year. He says that can be attributed to people learning to put down their phones while driving and paying attention to the road and drivers around them.
