Chiefs QB Cassel goes on IR

November 22, 2011 By Bill Pollock

The Chiefs ended Matt Cassel’s season by officially placing the quarterback on injured reserve following hand surgery on November 14. Tyler Palko will continue to be the starter after Monday’s loss at New England with fifth round draft pick Ricky Stanzi as the backup.

The team filled Cassel’s spot with wide receiver Jeremy Horne who has played in six games over the last two seasons with the Chiefs.
