Shelby Dasher, 20, is charged with second degree murder in the death of her son Tyler.

The St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office has charged the mother of 13 month-old Tyler Dasher with second degree murder in his death.

According to a probable cause statement, 20 year-old Shelby Dasher admitted to police she beat her toddler to death at her Affton-area home. Tyler’s body was found Tuesday afternoon near the edge of a wooded cemetery blocks from the Dasher home.

Prosecutor Robert McCulloch says Dasher told police she beat her son to death when he would not stop crying, and then disposed of the body in the bushes where he was found. She called police around 11:00 Tuesday morning to report him missing.

McCulloch says Tyler died of blunt force trauma.

The investigation is continuing.
