Broncos run over Chiefs

November 13, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow attempted just eight passes, but one of his two completions was a 56 yard touchdown as Denver managed to run wild over the Chiefs without their top two running backs for most of the game in a 17-10 win at Arrowhead.

With the loss, the Chiefs are in a three way tie for second along with Denver and San Diego at 4-5, while Oakland leads the division at 5-4.

Willis McGahee and Knowshon Moreno each had four carries in the first quarter before leaving the game with injuries. Lance Ball, who had 25 carries all season, took over for 30 touches and 96 yards. Tebow scored a touchdown out of the option that Denver employed to fit Tebow’s strengths as he picked up another 43 yards on the ground. His seven yard run in the first quarter which gave Denver a 7-0 lead.

Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel put up another lackluster performance going 13 of 28 for 93 yards with a touchdown.
