If you ask Mike DeArmond, Missouri beat writer for the Kansas City, that’s what he will say. Right after the announcement was made that Missouri was moving to the SEC, Kansas University came out with tweets and comments bashing Mizzou on the move. DeArmond says they better think about those decisions twice.

Men’s basketball coach Bill Self said KU basketball fans didn’t give a flip if they played the Tigers again. Football coach Turner Gill commented that he didn’t see a need to continue a rivalry with a team outside of the Big 12. Even Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little made it clear they would not be continuing the rivalry, saying “We’re sorry to see a century-old conference rivalry end,” Gray-Little said. “Missouri’s decision may have implications for fans and for the Kansas City area, but it won’t affect the long-term strength of the Big 12.”

Mike DeArmond on MU-KU (11:00)

DeArmond talks about why it means more for KU to continue the rivalry then it is for MU. We also break down the Tigers. I’m with fans on this one that offensive coach David Yost should bear some blame for the team’s troubles, especially in the third quarter. Mike thinks some blame needs to be handed out to defensive coordinator Dave Steckel.
