SEC to move to nine conference football games in 2012

November 7, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Now that the SEC has accepted Missouri as it’s 14th member, it appears the conference will now go with a nine-game football conference schedule. This will not affect Missouri and A & M, which already had nine games scheduled in the Big 12, but it will force SEC schools to drop a non-conference game.  Josh Dawsey of dailygamecock.com reports that South Carolina president Harris Pastides made the announcement about the increase in conference games on Sunday.

Missouri has Southern Illinois, Arizona State and Miami (OH) set for 2012. In 2013 and 2014, Mizzou is scheduled to play Toledo and Indiana in home and home series with Murray State in ’13 and South Dakota State in ’14.
