Missouri vs. Arkansas in the 2008 Cotton Bowl

Sean Cartell, writer for SECDigitalNetwork.com has put together a great article on the history of the Missouri Tigers vs. SEC schools. The last time Mizzou football faced an SEC team in football was of course at the end of the 2007-2008 season when Missouri beat Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl 38-7. It was also the first time since 1960 that the Tigers were ranked #1 in the nation. Some other notable games.

2005 season–Independence Bowl. Quarterback Brad Smith led the Tigers back from a 21-0 first quarter deficit and 28-14 halftime hole to beat Steve Spurrier’s South Carolina Gamecocks 38-31.

1978 season–Mizzou vs. Bama. The #1 Crimson Tide beat #11 Missouri 38-20 in front of the largest crowd at Memorial Stadium (73,655)

1966 season–Sugar Bowl. Quarterback Steve Spurrier rallied Florida with 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as Missouri held on for a 20-18 win.
