Missouri is losing the leader of its job-creating agency.  Economic development director David Kerr is retiring December 31from the job he has held for about two years.  Kerr had held a similar job in Kansas before crossing the state line.  Before that jobhe had been President of AT&T. 

Kerr will be an unpaid consultant helping with the Strategic Initiative for Economic Growth, a year-long effort to identify seven targeted industries for special job-creation efforts in the next five years. 

Kerr says he’s proud that the state has regained manufacturing jobs, especially in the auto and aircraft industries.
