The Moberly City Council passed two ordinances;  one calls for the $45,000 received from American Sucralose to be included as part of the cost reimbursement fund for Project Sugar and help provide for the city’s ability to cooperate with a joint investigation, lead by Attorney Daniel Vogel of St. Louis, the Attorney General’s Office and Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Fussellman.

The other ordnance authorizes the legal counsel, the city of Moberly and IDA personnel to cooperate with the joint investigation and maintain such information as confidential.

The Council approved the two actions by a unanimous vote;  Mayor Bob Riley and Mayor Pro-Tem Don Burton, along with Herb Lawrence and Dick Boots were in attendance; councilwoman Nancy Copenhaver participated by telephone.

Mayor Bob Riley and other members of the council would not comment  following the meeting.  However, the printed statement said additional information involving Project Sugar will be made available Tuesday, November 1st.
