Linn State Technical College still fighting ACLU lawsuit

October 27, 2011 By Brian Hauswirth

Linn State Technical College is fighting a lawsuit filed by the ACLU challenging Linn State’s ability to drug test its students. The ACLU says this violates the constitutional rights of students.

The courts ruled that the school can’t drug test students again, until the trial comes to a conclusion. The College’s attorney, Kent Brown, says it has already drug tested them at the beginning of this semester, but it can’t see the results because of the restraining order.

Brown says both sides have two weeks to gather evidence and ready themselves for another day in court. He says the school will appeal the decision if the court says it can’t drug test students again.
