With the pending weather forecast for Wednesday calling for rain, Major League Baseball postponed tonight’s game between the Cardinals and Rangers.  The good news is if the Cardinals win game six and force a seventh game, Tony La Russa could go with Chris Carpenter to start that game.  However, the downside is we know what happened the first and only time Carpenter pitched on three day’s rest.  That was against Philadelphia in game two.  He lasted three innings, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two.

The downside to a game seven on Friday is that the Rangers could counter with Derek Holland on regular rest of four days.  He went 8.2 innings allowing just two hits in one of the Rangers wins.
