MU Curators hand conference change authority to Deaton

October 22, 2011 By Mike Lear

The decision whether MU will remain in the Big 12 or move to another conference is now in the hands of Chancellor Brady Deaton.

Board of Curators Chairman Warren Erdman says the Board has placed full authority with Deaton to consider a change, as well as contigencies to keep the Tigers’ coming to Kansas City for events like a possible holiday basketball tournament.

Kansas University’s athletic director says the Border War rivalry is unlikely to continue if Missouri should leave the Big 12.
