Federal lawmakers are stepping up efforts on behalf of property owners at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission recently told Ameren that thousands of structures on its property around the Lake, built by adjacent landowners, needed to be removed.

Senators Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt have filed a bill to prevent the Commission from forcing removal of those structures. Representatives Blaine Luetkemeyer and Vicky Hartzler say they plan to introduce a similar bill in the House next week.
