Central Missouri volleyball sets team record in win over Emporia State

October 19, 2011 By Bill Pollock

The 7th-ranked Central Missouri Jennies knocked off Emporia State in three sets, 25-22, 25-21, 25-13, in the 13th consecutive match the Jens have won by a 3-0 score. The streak breaks the UCM record, originally set back in 1982, when matches were played in a best-of-3 format. Senior hitter Allie Huffman posted her second double-double in as many matches, and her third over the past five, with 12 kills and a season-high 18 digs. Teammate Paula Harris led the Jennies with 15 kills.

The streak will face a huge test as the Jennies stay perfect in MIAA play, improving to 8-0 and 18-3 overall. The Jens will travel to Topeka on Friday, October 21, to face off against No. 5 Washburn, in a battle of conference unbeatens. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start.
