Cape man gets probation for attempting to rob Fred’s, locking himself inside

October 19, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

A Cape Girardeau man gets probation for trying to rob Fred’s Discount Store, then accidentally locking himself inside. The 18-year-old hid and waited for the store to close … that’s when he rounded up about 500 dollars worth of clothing and dog treats. Police responded when he tripped the store’s alarm.

Ander Laxton has served 51 days in jail and will serve five years probation.
