First Lady attending Game One of W.S., MLB offers tips to fans

October 18, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Michelle Obama and Jill Biden are scheduled to attend the World Series opener in St. Louis on Wednesday night to honor military veterans.  Major League Baseball announced that it has dedicated Game 1 between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals to veterans and their families.

The first lady and Dr. Biden, the wife of Vice President Joe Biden, will participate in a pregame ceremony at Busch Stadium as part of MLB’s Welcome Back Veterans program and Obama’s Joining Forces initiative.

Major League Baseball is offering the following tips.

Arrive early to allow for enough time to enter the park as you should expect long lines. The gates open at 4:00 p.m. Central. On-field ceremonies begin at 6:20 p.m. Central.

Do not bring bottles or coolers of any kind into the ballpark. They will not be permitted.

Do not bring anything that you would not be allowed to bring on a plane.

The rules for what items you can bring into the ballpark will be the sameas TSA restrictions which you can find at www.tsa.govas . Any items surrendered at the gates will not be returned. Please minimize items you bring into the stadium to speed up the inspection process.
