Adams named MIAA player of the week after record weekend

October 18, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Sophomore Trevor Adams was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance during the Bearcats 65-20 win over Eastern New Mexico as announced by the league office on Monday.  Adams tied a school record with five touchdown passes, leading the Bearcats from three separate 7-point deficits in the first quarter.

The sophomore from Odessa, Texas, finished with 444 yards passing, which was 29 yards short of the Northwest single-game record. He was also able to find 10 different receivers, three of which finished with four catches and at least 50 yards receiving.

Adams and the Bearcats also moved up to No. 6 in the latest AFCA Top 25. This week’s opponent Washburn also moved up to No. 3 making Saturday a Top 10 showdown at Bearcat Stadium.
