Springfield Hillcrest receiver plays well in front of Stoops and Petrino

October 15, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Oklahoma Sooners coach Bob Stoops and Arkansas Razorbacks head man Bob Petrino were in the stands at Springfield Hillcrest watching Rivals.com’s number one wide receiving recruit, Dorial Green-Beckham. As I mentioned earlier in a previous story, Green-Beckham was chasing a national receiving record. He didn’t quite get there, but his Hornets beat West Plains 49-0 to capture their first Ozark Conference title since 2001.

Green-Beckham entered the game needing 369 yards to tie the record. He finished with five catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns. His first score got Hillcrest on top 7-0 on a 75 yard strike.

Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com told me that Green-Beckham is headed to the Mizzou-Iowa State today on an unofficial visit.
