Cassel one of three NFL QBs up for NFL player of the week

Matt Cassel, who was 21 of 29 for 257 yards and four TDs is nominated for this week’s NFL Player of the Week honors with Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger. Cassel’s 138.9 passer rating was the highest of the weekend.

Rodgers threw for 396 yards and two TDs in the Packers’ 25-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Roethlisberger had five TDs and a pick with 228 yards in the Steelers’ 38-17 win over the Tennessee Titans.
