Patrik Berglund scored the Blues first goal of the 2011-12 season and newcomer Jason Arnott added a goal as well, but two power play goals by Nashville helped hand the Blues a season opening 4-2 loss on Saturday night.

Predators forward David Legwand had two goals and two assists and rookie Craig Smith, playing in just his second NHL game, now has two goals and two assists after a three-point night (one goal, two assists) against the Blues.

Goalie Jaroslav Halak had big numbers against the Predators last season, going 4-1-1 with a 1.14 goals-against average and .956 save percentage and had his shutout string of over 171 minutes against the Preds snapped in the first period on a goal by Smith. Nashville went 2 for 4 on the power play.
