Missouri State’s 3-1 volleyball victory at Bradley Friday evening was enough for 16th-year head coach Melissa Stokes to move alone atop the Missouri Valley Conference all-time wins list with her 197th career MVC victory.
The Bears (11-4, 4-0 MVC) remained perfect in league play after set scores of 25-21, 25-27, 25-18 and 25-15 against the Braves (7-7, 1-4). Stokes, meanwhile, passed former UNI boss Iradge Ahrabi-Fard for the record and now sits at 346 total victories at MSU.
The Bears face 14th-ranked Northern Iowa (15-1, 5-0) Saturday night. The Panthers rallied from two sets down to beat Wichita State in five Friday and have won 45 consecutive matches against MVC teams dating to a 2008 loss to Missouri State.
