Former Big 8 Commish named as a temp (AUDIO)

September 22, 2011 By Bill Pollock

University of Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton addressed the media on Thursday evening regarding the resignation of Commissioner Dan Beebe and the state of the Big 12 conference.

Deaton thanked Beebe for all of his work and wished him the best of luck, then announced Chuck Neinas as the interim commissioner. Neinas was the Big 12 Commissioner from 1971-1980. Deaton would not talk on speculation or hypothetical scenarios, but Deaton explained he has been asked to put together a group to address the issues the conference is faced with so that they can survive and prosper.

The Big 12 will also look at expansion in the future as well.
