Pet pig ordinance prompts plumber and family to leave St. Charles

September 21, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

The St. Charles City council says it again: No pigs in the city.

That’s bad news for Pepper the Pig, whose owners say they didn’t know about the city’s anti-pig ordinance when they got him last March.  Pepper weighs about 15 pounds and won’t weigh more than 50 when he’s full-grown.

David and Kerrie Meyers say they’re going to leave St. Charles and take their plumbing business with them. They have three children who are allergic to cats and dogs.
