One of the two men charged with stealing and burning Lieutenant Governor Kinder’s car last April in Cape Girardeau has pleaded guilty to property damage and stealing a motor vehicle. Jacob Schepard will be sentenced Monday and could get seven years in prison.
A second man charged in the case is due for trial next month. Police say the two stole the car, rammed it into a brick wall at a gun shop, then set the vehicle on fire.
