First we had the Rams complaining that the New England Patriots were taping their Super Bowl practices while they were going over goal line plays. Now, Sam Bradford and the Rams are claiming that the New York Giants were faking injuries to slow their uptempo offense.

First there is no disputing the Giants were faking injuries. ESPN caught not one, but two Giants on one play just dropping to the ground, acting like they had a cramp. One of the players popped back up after he realized someone else laid down. The Rams were using hurry up and no huddle to move the ball down the field. When the Rams got close to the goal line…boom injuries hit the Giants.

It allowed them to substitute and catch their breath. After the game, the Giants played stupid.

“Well, from my standpoint on the sideline, I thought he was cramped,” New York coach Tom Coughlin said. “They were in a no-huddle situation and it was a hurry-up deal. I just thought that he cramped at that time or definitely had something that was bothersome to him.”

Give me a break Coughlin, I love how they try to play this off as if they have no idea what’s going on. Bradford confirmed what we all saw.

“They couldn’t get subbed, they couldn’t line up. Someone said, ‘Someone go down, someone go down,’ so someone just went down and grabbed a cramp.”

You can’t penalize a NFL team for faking injuries unless they admit it, which will never happen, so I’m not sure how you police this action, but in the meantime, I have a suggestion to the Rams or any other NFL team…score a touchdown!

I think it’s bush league to fake an injury, but the way to stop that is score some touchdowns, then call out your opponent in the post game. I would have much rather heard Bradford say, “Yeah the Giants faked injuries and we still ran it down their throats.” Quit using it as an excuse Rams.
