Blaine Gabbert, the Jacksonville Jaguars first round draft pick, was named their starter for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Unfortunately for Blaine, his first start will come against Cam Newton, who was the overall number one pick, and has more passing yards in his first two game than any other rookie in NFL history. On the flip side, he’s taking on Carolina, the worst team last year and despite great numbers from Newton, are still 0-2.

Jacksonville is a mess. They cut projected starter David Garrard, who was scheduled to make $9 million, and handed the job to Luke McCown, who outplayed Garrard and Gabbert in the preseason. In week two, McCown was picked off four times and sacked for a safety.
