Tombstone company owner goes to jail for contempt

September 20, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

A Pagedale tombstone company owner is going to jail for a month for contempt of court. A judge says Jeffrey Thomure has violated a court order finding he had taken money for monuments without providing them. The Attorney General says he has collected almost $15,000 more dollars from customers since the court order in 2006.

The judge has ordered Thomure to pay $42,000 in fines and court costs. Thomure also has until January first to deliver the gravestones people ordered or to refund money to customers.
