The Rams inability to score inside the red zone and their mistakes were turned into points the other way as the Giants were handed a 28-16 win by the Rams on Monday Night Football.

Sam Bradford had no problems moving the football against the Giants, throwing for 331 yards, but once the Rams got deep in New York’s end, they came away with field goals, going 1 for 4 inside the red zone.

In the first quarter Bradford hit Danario Alexander for a 68 yard catch and run that gave the Rams a first down at the one, but they had to settle for a 21 yard field goal from Josh Brown. The first big mistake of the night came when Greg Salas, back returning punts in place of injured Danny Amendola, muffed a punt and gave Eli Manning a short field to work with. Manning’s three yard touchdown pass gave New York a 7-3 lead. Bradford moved the Rams again deep into the red zone and settled for a 25 yard Brown FG cutting the lead to 7-6.

Early in the second quarter, the Rams had a third and 8 just outside the Giants’ 30 when Bradford threw a backward pass to Cadillac Williams. The ball slipped through his hands, and the live ball was picked up by Michael Boley who ran untouched 65 yards to put New York up 14-6. Manning added another touchdown pass later to go up 21-6 and the Rams were never a factor from that point on.

Alexander caught the Rams only touchdown pass late in the third quarter. The former Mizzou star had three catches for 119 yards.

The Rams outgained the Giants but two turnovers turned into 14 points for New York.
